2022 Provincial Poomsae Seminar

Dear BC Taekwondo Member,

We will be holding a 2 day seminar on sport poomsae for athletes, coaches, and referees. This seminar is open to all black belt athletes aged 12 years and older (red belts may attend on the recommendation of their coach).

Our facilitator is Cindy Richardson who is an international poomsae and kyorugi referee and former international sport poomsae competitor. She is currently the Western Canadian poomsae chair for Taekwondo Canada and the Referee Chair for the Alberta Taekwondo Association. After two years of Zoom poomsae training and judging, Cindy is looking forward to an in-person poomsae seminar!

This two-day seminar will cover detailed judging criteria for sport poomsae compulsory patterns Taegeuk Sa Jang to Hansu (time permitting) along with physical poomsae training. There will be opportunities for actual poomsae practice and scoring practice, using the computer system. Provincial BC referees will receive poomsae referee certification upon completion of the seminar (including an exam).  Space is limited. Out of town participants can book rooms at the Hilton Metrotown online.

Coffee, tea, and water will be available both days, but participants are recommended to bring a light dinner or purchase dinner nearby during the dinner break on Saturday, and lunch on Sunday. Contact Master John Kim (info@adelphos.ca) with any questions.
